Spicy Yummy Flavour

I spent most of today travelling. First an 8:10 am train from Ayuthaya to Phitsanulok, then a bus from Phitsanulok to Sukhothai.

The countryside between Ayuthaya and Phitsanulok was pretty. Outside of Phitsanulok it became quite densely wooded with banana and coconut trees, and some tall trees I don't recognise that look kinda like gum trees.

The trains arrival in Phitsanulok coincided perfectly with a tropical downpour, just as we were getting off the train. I asked a white guy, who turned out to be Chris from Geelong, where he was going. He said he was also on his way to Sukhothai, with two Japanese girls, so the four of us went to the bus station in Phitsanulok together in a tiny songthaew, where we caught the bus to Sukhothai.

The weather here feels cooler to me than it was in Ayuthaya, though a whiteboard here at the Lotus Village where I'm staying says it was 30 degrees today with humidity of 79%. Maybe I'm just getting used to the heat.
