Phuket
I've exchanged one tourist mecca for another, taking a ferry and a bus from Koh Samui to Phuket on the opposite side of the peninsula.
The ferry left from Na Thon at about 8 am, so I had to get up at about 5:30 am to get from Hat Chaweng to Na Thon. The ferry ride was pretty uninteresting, but as the bus passed through Pha Nga province, the landscape became very mountainous. These mountains rise sheer out of an otherwise flat region.
Near where I'm staying in Phuket town is an outdoor market (talaat gaseyt) that gets going in the early evening and goes till about midnight. There's loads of food vendors there. I had some extremely delicious khaow man gai there.
