Six Economics Video and Audio Podcasts
Over the past 2 years I've made a concerted effort to educate myself about economics, and through that process I've ended up subscribed to a number of video and audio podcasts that offer content both on the history and theory of economics, as well as on current events. These are my favorites:
Economic History and Theory
| The Lew Rockwell Show | Audio | A great archive of short interviews covering all sorts of topics from analysis of the current financial crisis, to the history of various economics ideas. The host, Lew Rockwell, is one of the founders of the Mises Institute, so there is sometimes some cross-over in the content on this feed. |
| EconTalk | Audio | I just came across this one recently. Another great archive of very varied content. |
| Mises University Lectures | Video | Probably my favorite feed. The lectures provided here are fantastic, explaining all kinds of economic theory in a way that is understandable and interesting. Love it. |
Economic Current Events
| Wall Street Unspun with Peter Schiff | Audio | Peter Schiff runs an investment firm in the US, and puts out this weekly radio show, along with many other media appearances, from which he's earned the title of Dr Doom. His views are nonetheless very interesting |
| King World News | Audio | This is a very new podcast, with the first episode having come out just last month. It's an interview format, with a very good host who has a good voice and great interviewing technique. I'm working my way through the back catalogue of this one at the moment. |
| Gold Seek Radio | Audio | GSR is my most recent find. It's got a varied format, with an interview segment, and various other bits, plus a lot of ads. The interviews are very good, but the shows themselves are very long with all the other material. I've only listened to 2 of these, but so far I like it. |
